I think it's the coolest thing; but I think I'm going to have to wait until next year to get it done if I can get it done at all. I haven't researched them REALLY in depth yet but I think they take 6 weeks or longer to heal and you have to be careful about bumping them because they'll reject faster. All kinds of stuff that I'll continue to research. I think would be worth it in the long run because they're just great to me. Lol.

So what do you think about hip piercings? Yay or nay?

Surface piercings are hard to heal and prone to rejecting. Something you would want to research very carefully and make sure you go to a piercer who specializes in such things.

Hip piercings? I've never heard of them. I had to look for a few pictures. From what I see, yeah it looks interesting but I've never been a huge fan of surface piercings myself. I'm all for the good old body piercings (got my navel done last year).
I would also add that surface piercings could get awkward, considering their position on the body; the skin on the hips does a lot of moving when the body is walking and turning around, so just keep that in mind.

Personally, getting peircings done it up the the person: your body, do what you want. Only problem I can see with these piercings, worse then 'bumping' them, it catching them against hems of trousers or underwear (okay, probably a bit high), or maybe bracelets or watch straps, if you wear going to walk around without a shirt say. I don't know but I don't like to think about it, ripped piercings aren't nice XD

Like you said, research very thoroughly and make sure the piercer you choose is happy to do it. I'm sure they can tell you all you need to know.

Ouch. It would suck to get them ripped out. I'll have to be really careful. I think I'm going to get microdermals; those are less prone to rejection. But like I said I haven't set it in stone. And I still have to get my parents approval and they're probably not going to be thrilled so I'll probably have to wait until I'm 18. But I'm glad to hear other people's opinions on them even though they're not all positive.

I love hip piercings, its on my list of planning-to-get piercings.

Just keep in mind that surface piercings are prone to rejection so you have to be uber anal about cleaning and taking good care of 'em.

So I was imagining it on the bony part of the hip and I was like, "holy crap, that would hurt and be exactly where I wear my pants", but then I google imaged it, and it doesn't look as painful as I had originally thought. I like it. I like weird piercings better than the common ones. I'm not really a fan of the naval piercing or the Monroe, but this looks good. But, in general I'm against piercings.
