Not only is she beyond immature and a bad speller at that, but it just ticks me off because no one has ever called me the devil or Lucifer or anything else.

Well, considering you were spouting misinformation, it's no wonder that you were a target for some trollin'. God had a whole slew of words to say and frankly, most of them had nothing to do with loving thy neighbour. Now why would you go around doing a silly thing like that? The Bible of choked full of the Lord said this, and the Lord that ... To some crazy caps lock lady you might come across as (i) spreading misinformation, and/or (ii) denying that the other passages were God's words.

If you want to engage in a theological debate remember to cite sources, include the verbatim text of passages key to your argument, use good logical forms, and remember that a snowball has a better chance in hell than you have of convincing the other person. The best one can aspire to is to show bystanders the error in your opponent's ways.

I'm always amused by people like this because they are so far beyond ridiculous that the only thing you can do is laugh.

Spawn of Satan? I'd just laugh hysterically if someone said that to my face.

My approach would be to politely thank her for her opinion and say that yours differs, and in the same way you're allowing her to have her space to share her feelings, you'll appreciate it if she'll allow you yours.

And then you can talk about how surprising it is when people who claim to be Christians can get so wrapped up in their own agendas, self-hate, or shame that they feel that they have to lash out at other people.

If you just keep responding with kindness, no matter what she says, and don't take the bait... well, either she will run out of steam and stop posting, or she will continue and it will be really obvious to everyone who's the wingnut and who's the person interested in civilized dialog.

In short, I believe the best way you handle people who are angry and ignorant is to demonstrate for them the behavior that their own bible teaches, but for some reason they're unable to grasp.
