Couple things here...

For my 18th birthday in July, I really want to go out and get a tattoo. No, not just for the sake of getting one... I'm really proud of how far I've come into my identity, and also the LGBT aspect of my life is super important to me... which is why I really want to get a tattoo falling under that theme.

I'm looking at a Labrys, which is a double-headed axe, and also used as a symbol for lesbianism. Primarily, I like this design:

1. As far as colors, would it be best left black? Or perhaps rainbow colors flowing through all of it? I also thought of the handle of the axe having rainbow colors, or maybe a rainbow outlining, and the rest of it black.

2. Where should I put it?! I really want to put it on the inside of my left forearm, perhaps around my wrist. Does anybody else have any better placement ideas?

3. Do any of you guys have any lgbt tattoos? I'd love to hear about them

Or, LGBT tattoo ideas in general.

I love it and have always wanted a tattoo myself, it looks great!

1. Colourful tattoos can be more difficult, some colours fade, and you are more likely to be allergic to them but they look awesome! I like the rainbow handle idea.
2. Wrists can be really obvious, forearms as well, think about how you<d feel about it there in 40 years... Those areas are also quite bony, particularly the wrist which would up the level of pain. It's really up to you...

1. I would get it a deep purple color myself, because i think it would be best left a solid color, and purple is a very unofficial "gay" color.

2. I think lower or upper back or left forearm would be good.

3. I am never going to get a tattoo because i personally want to keep my body without any piercings or tattoos. That said, if i were to get one it would be super gay!

It's cool! I like the rainbow idea. Perhaps making the blades of the axe rainbow with a black outline?
My friend just got one, it's pretty sweet.

I think it is an awesome design that would look really nice on the upper arm area specifically, but that would be a more visible location. I would leave it black personally, but rainbow colors would look pretty cool as well.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!

I still think I'm leaning towards my inner left wrist... I'd have it done horizontally, because it would be convenient to place a watch over it if I wanted to hide it.

Also, I'm still mixed on the colors.... Bikelady, thanks a bunch for the color ideas! I really like the second one :P I might just go with that, but still have the rainbow colors still outlined in black, or a rainbow handle outlined in black... or a black handle outlined in rainbow.. Not sure yet :/

just my opinion.
I want a gay tattoo combining flying, scorpio, and gayness, and maybe music. I think that would be kind of hard though...

I like the design. I never knew of an axe.

I like it more black, but the handle being black and the blade being colored looks alright. Bit over the top but still, looks alright.

Tribal should be left black!

Otherwise the colours fade and they just end up looking like some blob on your arm.

My friend thought he's be 'different' with colours.

From a distant it looks like his shoulder is scarred.
It's wierd.

Maybe a black outline would help though.
