| Guest Posts: n/a | Ahem. I'm sure most people know how I feel about the supernatural. I believe it's all rubbish. This story is very misleading. First off, they left out some really important details: Quote:
So, essentially, they "racked their minds" for what they could have done, but taking him to an airplane museum didn't seem important? This whole "documentary" is heavily reliant on the idea that the parents aren't planting thoughts into the child's head by accident and that they aren't tricking themselves into believing he knows more. It's as simple as Occam's Razor. Which is the better explaination: a child overhears his parents/the news and begins to fabricate himself a story that happens to share similarities to countless other stories? OR a child is actually the reincarnation of a man who died many years ago who has come back through an unknown mechanism for an unknown reason? If you want to see a complete debunking of this "amazing proof of reincarnation", please visit this website. I can't be bothered. I just hope the family wasn't conned out of too much money when they were aided by this Carol Bowman woman. | |

That doesn't mean I believe in any of them. ...OK, the turtles MIGHT exist. Lex |

I believe that we have have an energy and accompanying energy signature and a bond with the Universe, but I don't know that we keep cycling round and round again. On the other hand, I can envision an afterlife of a sort of "multiple choice" nature, where those that want to go for another ride can jump into a new being, those that are done can go sit in the lounge, and those that want to do some other thing can figure out where those options are and go for them. At this point, though, I think less about returning and more about making this run count for all I can. If the option presents itself, well, I'll figure it out when I get there.

EC Moderator ![]() Gender: Male Orientation: Gay Out Status: Out to everyone Age: 20 Posts: 3,704 Join Date: Jul 2008 | I watched another documentary about a young boy who went off to find the home he lived in in a past life, once. The film was trying to make it look like he was revisiting the place and it was a huge emotional journey for him. Dramatic music and awkward camera angles aside, he was just a confused young boy pushed by his mother to carry on a story, whose "past life" had no relation to any past reality. I could see how someone would be convinced by the way it was made though, if they wanted to believe it. I'm not going to dismiss belief in reincarnation. I just don't have any reasons to believe in it for the time being. |

I believe in the same things. I've seen too many things for it to just be coincidence. Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinions. I just wanted you to know, you're not alone in your thinking.

Location: Middle of Oregon Age: 50 Posts: 7,572 Join Date: Mar 2007 | Thanks everybody for your input. I'm the one in four that does believe in reincarnation. I've read Carol Bowman's books about child memories of past lives and its fascinating. One of my good online friends believes she had a past life with Garth Brooks. (www.jennysmedley.com) She was taken to a house that she supposedly lived in in her past life and she showed the owners there a secret room that they did not know existed. This was all put on tape for a documentary in England. I sent these links to her. She already knew about this family because she had researched them and included them in one of her books. Numfar....I do not believe a child would know the names of airplanes from a visit to a museum. Everything is an "airplane" to a child that young. They don't care what the name of the airplane is. Oh....and I never discount what a child says to me when they are that young. I had one child in my daycare who used to talk about angels all the time.

He's found some astounding cases of children recognizing people they've never met, describing in minute detail things that could only later be verified with detailed research that would not have been known to anyone, and other evidence that seems to point pretty clearly to the notion of past life knowledge; it cannot even be mind reading because in many cases, the things the children described were unknown to any of the adults around them until it was later researched and verified. There's also some strong evidence of past lives from the work of Brian Weiss, MD, a Harvard-trained psychiatrist who inadvertently had patients bringing up past life memories during hypnosis; many of his cases were later verified, and in some cases, past life work resolved current-life illness or mental issues. My own experience has led me to the conclusion there's no question that reincarnation exists. However, I do think it's an understanding that each person has to come to for themselves, and I respect those that don't share that opinion. |

Why not? The supernatural's not my first or even in my top twenty concerns, but it seems probable and very interesting. Human life has been around for millions of years. God probably got too lazy to create new souls, so he just recycled them. LOL Convenient and a space saver.

Reincarnation I know that this sort of thing is in the Hindu religion itself right? Nowadays, I'm not sure what to believe anymore, but I strongly hope for it. I mean, I'm not counting on anything, so for now, my only position would be for us to wait, and then just "cross that bridge when we come to it." Honestly however, it'd be super cool if I could be reincarnated into a cute fuzzy bunny :3 *hops away*
