So I was marching along with PFLAG and I hear "Beeeeeecccccckkkkyyyyy". I looked over and saw two guys. It took me a minute to figure out who they were but it was Lane and Bader! That was a nice surprise! I had so much fun today! Thanks for yelling at me guys! It made my day!

I wish I was able to go to a pride even this year; I'm thinking Atlanta next year.

The guy from Alaska came to OR Becky? XD So when you come to Eugene for our pride, do I get to scream your name like a crazed fan girl too? I'm sure there will be at minimum 2 EC'ers there. (another has told me they'll be going) Did you know there are like 5 EC'ers around us Becky? xD I live within 5 mins of another. and 15 of the other.

PFLAG stands for Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. We have chapters all over the United States and internationally also. It was started by a woman who was fed-up when her gay son was beaten up while police watched and did nothing. She took her message to the streets. She carried a sign in the New York City pride parade that said "Parents Unite in Support of Our Gay Children". She was amazed when people ran up to her and hugged her and said "Will you please talk to my parents?" The organization gained popularity when Jeanne appeared on The Phil Donahue show and Dear Abby used PFLAG as a resource every time people wrote in clueless and upset because their children were gay.

That's PFLAG in a nutshell. We support. We educate. We advocate.

Yes, Lane lives here in Oregon now. I'm not planning on marching in Eugene pride. I will be at Bend Pride though on the 27th of June. My PFLAG chapter has a booth.

    Thanks.
Hmm. Parents and families, okay.. but friends? Surely that's going a bit far.. I mean, if we're looking for equality here, why on earth are friends of lesbians/gays making a fuss about it! I can understand the parent one a bit.. helping gays/lesbians cope with unsupportive families.. but.. heh. Maybe it's just me.

We'll take allies anywhere they are. And if you'd been around twenty years ago, you might understand how big a deal it actually was.

Also many people come to PFLAG because they want equality for their glbt friends. Its not always about support.

Enigma did I say that? When is it? Maybe I can make it over if it doesn't interfere with Bend pride. I HAVE to be there.
