ok...I'm pretty sure I'm straight and just want to know.

Do Gays and Bis think the rainbow is a good thing or a bad thing to represent them?

Good. It represents how the world is made up of all kinds of people. it's tacky(in a good way) and I would never wear it, though,

    Hiiiii.

Don't worry. We "allow" straight people here too. <3

The rainbow is a good symbol for ALL people. Gay people just are the biggest advocates of it. And like some other people here, I do think it can be cheesy, but when used subtly, it's awesome.

It's also cool if you don't know if someone's supportive and then you look on their bag or something and they have a rainbow pin. :]

I like it! I like that it's such a visual metaphor for diversity, and, well... I guess the same part of me that really liked Lisa Frank as a kid is still there and is secretly pleased that I have an excuse to wear rainbows now. ;D

    Paraphrased from Henry Rollins:

Why'd you guys choose a rainbow? I mean, yeah, I get it - diversity and all that. But you should've chosen something that indicates that you're not to be fucked with. Something like a wrench.

I personally would have preferred a machine gun that shoots different coloured bullets.

I don't really like it for my own reasons - I'm not fond of the bright, garish colors and campiness of it, but I suppose as a symbol for LGBT rights it's pretty recognizable.

    I love the rainbow!

Its supposed to represent our diversity coming together as one. People from all different walks of life, LGBTQLMNOP, are all in one community fighting for a singular goal - equality.

Now i know thats not always the case :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: but thats what the rainbow flag means for me.

and all the rest of the letters in the alphabet?

rainbows blend in real life, we just cant blend it in the symbols..part of the idea is that we're all together and part of the same thing...wow that is tacky lol
