It's a guy that I went to junior and senior high with. I was in a number of classes with him, but haven't talked to him that much since graduating.

Anyways, I get a little note in my facebook feed that he changed his screen name, and "Interested in".

His name is now a woman's name! He came out as trans! I never saw that coming.

Anyways I sent her a supportive PM and suggested we should meet up. Then I can share my secret!

She's very brave to be able to do that. I'm still too scared to put anything down for "Interested in"!

I'd be totally with you on this, but I've had people do something similar twice as a drunken prank... so I tend to hang fire for a while.

It's been a couple days since the name / status change, and the MSN display name changed too. She's mid 20's.

She added Several LGBT facebook groups in the interim.

There's a couple of openly gay guys who commented on her wall, and were given positive responses.

It's also why I didn't come out in my Private message.

That's really sweet of you to reach out to her like that.

I don't think I'm doing anything like that yet, because I still have the conservative bible thumpers of my extended family on my friends list...>_<

I hate it when people do "come out", though. Half the time, I don't know if these boys are joking or not, cause like 2 people that I know who did that recently are football jocks...so idk if it's a prank or not, haha.

yay! Good for her! I've stared at the "Intereseted In" info on facebook for a long time, but I couldn't bring myself to change it. I just decided to leave the entire section out of my profile. And I still want to actually come out to some people face to face before doing it online.

well dont be like me as I used to know a guy at work and went away for holidays and came back as a woman as she had sexual resignment surgery. I worked with her a few years but I never came out to her. We could have been better friends if I came out to her but she has left work and dont know where she is now.
