Default Flash Mobs

Who here's been part of a flash mob? I've been dying to for a couple of years now, and I finally get the chance - there's a mass pillow fight in Melbourne this weekend, and I'll be there with bells on. Does anyone have any stories to share?

(For those who haven't heard of flash mobs, Wiki has a good article: "A flash mob (or flashmob) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse.")

I've been to a flashmob before! It was in Sheffield and we essentially gathered and stood motionless for five minutes. Very unsual, very good fun.

There's a youtube video of it, actually... (I didn't take the video, upload it or have anything to do with it and I'm not even sure I appear in it, so it should be alright to put on here, right?

It was really a great thing to do (if a little weird) and I'd love to go do another.

I think flash mobs are utterly hilarious! I remember one time Anonymous did a flash freeze I think they called it where they met in a location and dispersed, then suddenly as the clock struck some time they froze for a few minutes and then afterwards continued what they were doing.

We were thinking about doing that on a school trip to an amusement park, only everyone from our school would do it at the same time wherever they were, spread throughout the park. We didn't end up doing it though.

I've never been apart of any sort of flash mob before but this year I'm going to try and be part of Zombie Walk! I'm not sure if posting a link here would be against the rules or not but if your interested you can look it up yourself.

It's basically a zombie parade where a bunch of people dress up as zombies and meet up at a pre-determined location and make there way through the streets as a horde of zombies and acting in a very undead manner. ("Brains!!!!" / Banging on windows / scarring pedestrians / etc) It is usually held sometime in October a week or two or three before Halloween.

They have that in Melbourne too! Zombies freak me out so I wouldn't go, but just knowing that it happens cracks me up. Apparently there'salso an after-party that you go to still in costume. Zombie party!

I'm part of a Midwest group that does missions.

Last month we froze in a Barnes and Noble for five minutes. It was raining that day and this little girl asked her dad why we weren't moving and he told her "Well we've had a bad case of freezing rain today".

And a week after that we had a syncronized/Follow-the-lead umbrella dance through out the mall. We had random people join in.
