Y'all have to admit the best and more romantic part is when he pulls the ring out the trash. OUT THE FREAKING TRASH, lovely.

If I ever find a girl who'd look at me twice, I expect a proposal JUST LIKE THAT. (Or... slightly less public.)

It was very sweet, but I'm not a fan of public proposals. When you're forcing a bunch of strangers to witness your proposal-- whether it's hijacking Disneyland, going on an intercom system, or getting on the Jumbotron-- you're basically forcing your partner to say yes or else look like a total bitch in front of hundreds of people. "That awful woman turned down that sweet, romantic proposal!" Perhaps she just wasn't ready for marriage.

I would say it's acceptable to stage a public proposal if the two people have already discussed marriage, both partners have declared that they want to marry each other, and the proposing partner is 100% certain the other will accept. That said, it was very nice and I wouldn't mind being proposed to in that manner as long as the previous criteria were met first.

...And I turned this into a rant, didn't I? Sorry.

I've always thought the same thing, but I think if it was me, I'd say yes anyway. If I really felt it wasn't right, I'd talk to him later in private. It might seem like a horrible thing to do, but it's better than turning him down (eep!) in front of everyone. Might as well feign a yes and then pull him to the side later and explain.

    But that's just me :'D

I watched a tv program where a celebrity proposed to his girlfriend and she said no. It was live. It was so awkward and he had a t shirt with the text 'She said yes!' on the back.

if someone did that to me i would say no. id be so horrifically embarassed!

Personally i don't think that is atall romantic. One of the keys to romance is intimacy in my book, that the the complete opposite of intimacy!
