And it's not dead people that communicate with me from the grave or anything, it's a ghost. I've personally seen them in my house, so it kinda gives me the clue...

My brother swore that a ghost had possessed me. But in the bright summer air, when we left the catacombs, we talked the experience over. Naturally, we came to the conclusion that it wasn't a ghost that caused me to faint. It was the lack of oxygen in a sealed underground city. A much more logical answer than ghosts. Ghosts are just a way of saying, "I don't understand what happened/what I saw." Just because you can think of no other explaination doesn't mean that you are haunted. | |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I get sleep paralysis. Before I knew what sleep paralysis was I thought I was seeing demons/ghosts/spirits. SP (which is different from night terrors) is where your body is asleep/paralyzed and your mind is still awake. It's also common to hallucinate, and I would see giant black blobs moving about, and hear noises that weren't happening. I felt a horrid sense of doom, terror, and like I was going to die. I haaaaate SP! |

| EC's Red Queen EC Admin ![]() Gender: Male Orientation: Gay Out Status: Some people Location: Merseyside, UK Age: 21 Posts: 8,047 Join Date: Nov 2007 | A few people in my family have said they have seen ghosts before, but I'm not entirely sure what to make of it really. My mum claims to have saw a mysterious boy in her room when she was 9, and that he ran away through the wall when he saw her. I'm not entirely sure what logical explanation would explain her imagining that, but I then flip the coin and find it equally as difficult to explain why the boy of a ghost would randomly wander into my mums room and then run off through the wall (especially when the door was so easily located ). But I dunno, I wasn't even born so I couldn't even try and figure it out even if I wanted to.The only experience I have had was a mysterious girl laughing in the house around 3am. That itself is hardly ghostly though, and considering I live in an urban area and was tired I could have easily mistaken which direction the noise came from. There are numerous streets connected in a close proximity, so it's not that unlikely some drunken person was laughing loudly in the night. I'm not entirely sure why a ghost would be that interested in coming to my house for a laugh. ![]()

| This. I don't care to explain myself when I already know the reaction I'll get.

| Guest Posts: n/a | I really wish yalls would share! I DO have one freaky story. When my family and I were overseas in scotland we stayed in this castle from the 1500s right? Now theres the older part thats more of a museum, and then the other half where people can stay. My sister and I were sharing a room that ran parallel to the dungeon in the old half of the castle. Anyways, at about 3am in the morning I wake up and the TV is on and all the lights are on. My sister is dead to the world (asleep) and I know for a fact we went to bed with the lights off. This was probably just an electric glitch, but whooooooooooooooooooo knows *inserts spooky music* |

| The gay gargoyle EC Advisor Gender: Male Orientation: Gay Out Status: Out to everyone Location: Colorado Age: 42 Posts: 12,371 Join Date: Dec 2007 | That sounds like a really awful supernatural gay porn film. "Ghosts Suck". Never had a real ghost story. I lived in a rented place when I was 11 for nine months, and I always felt there was some sort of presence there, but it apparently was benign. Didn't cause mischief OR lead me to the secret golden treasure buried out back. The building I live in currently had a couple bank robbers killed inside back in the early 1900s, so I at least have the set-up. But I don't even feel a presence here. My cats, being cats, will occasionally look very intently at absolutely nothing up on the wall or ceiling. When they do that, I say "Are you looking at the ghost, kitten?" Then I look at the blank spot, wave a bit, and say "Hi, ghost." That's it. Oh, wait, here's one. I worked at a building where a famous person once worked...and he had been killed while working there. (To protect everybody - including me - I'll say the famous person was "John Smith".) When I was training, a co-worker said "Occasionally, you'll have something really weird happen. When that happens, I just stand up on a chair and announce loudly, 'Ghost of John Smith, leave me alone!'. That seems to do the trick. I sort of waved that away. Several months later, I was typing something up on a typewriter - that's like a word processor, but you type straight onto paper. Suddenly, the typewriter just started typing garbledygook. I took my hands off the keys, but the typewriter kept going. Not all the same letter, but it certainly didn't make sense. Something like "dytxnbicihpnbinyc..." I stared at it as it kept typing, then shrugged, stood on a chair, and announced, "Ghost of John Smith, leave me alone!"...and the typewriter stopped. Not knowing what to do then, I then announced, "Thank you!" Then I put another piece of paper in the typewriter and got back to work. Lex |

I've yet to have an experience, and I'm certainly not going out of my way to have one, but I do believe they're among us. For those who don't believe in ghosts, how do you explain ghost sightings where the person clearly saw the figure? A light trick? Sleepiness? Schizophrenia? Made up to get attention?

in my mind. So I guess it's a good thing it hasn't happened to you. ![]() For my experince(s), I've never seen one fully, but I have seen a little bit of them every now and again, and I've heard them dozens of time. Recently I heard a man whispering in my living room, of course so many things went through my head, I figured some homeless guy had made his way into our home. Haha. But do this day we still don't know what the bloody hell that is.
