Just a question that popped into my head yesterday...are my group of friends unusual in that we always put kisses on the end of txts,emails,of facebook messages?

Even my straight male friends put 'Xx' or 'Xxx' on the end when they txt or facebook me,or at the end of an msn coversation.

Thing is if i start talking to a new person online,often at the end of the first conversation i will say 'Byeee Xxx' without thinking,coz its just instinct. If they then dont put kisses on their bye i suddenly wander if they think im weird

So anyway yeah i thought id do a poll to see what people on ec do,and whether this is just a peculiarity of my friend group...

(we also give each other hugs to say hi and good bye too... lol)

obviously partners dont count here,just your general friends.

I kinda find it like, a violation of personal space, tbh ._.

I do it all the time, but in France it's sort of a cultural thing, we put kisses everywhere, especially girls

I hardly ever use kisses, although that could have something to do with the fact that I'm still a lip virgin.

I use *hug* all the time, though.

I use *hug*, but in the middle of conversations.
I rarely even use the kissing face ":*" or ":-*

Absolutely no one who texts/IM's me does. My signature on my phone, however, is "xoxo". My one friend actually asked me what it meant.

i usually put *ttyl bye xo* at the end of convos, but usually its to my female friends, some of whom i'm out to and some whom i'm not. even the girls who know respond with the same tho, and i occasionally use it with my guy friends as well, but only if we're really close. il also same i love you! in the convos, to the same straight guys

i read the topic and i thought using kisses IRL... which i sometimes do...
but then i read in virtual world... and i think the closest i get is using "<3"

Not when I'm typing but if I'm writing out a card or a letter to a friend then quite often I will which now that I think about it is kind of weird that I do one and not the other.

i know its not that flirtatious, lol, but yeah my (definitely straight)friend sometimes does it to me, and i guess it makes me feel loved

but it loses its meaning and doesnt become a sign of affection when it is overused!!! some people use them ALL the time, and they just become meaningless

I uses kisses at the end of everything.

Except if I'm talking to people who like me and I don't like them. Then I have to concentrate super hard not to finish convos with "love you xx" coz that'd send the wrong message xD
