    Oh great.

After being persuaded to go back to college (an IT course)

i felt quite okay with it.

I'd already missed two days induction so i had half a day to get used to the idea.

So we're in groups of 3 buliding a bridge out of paper (team somethingness excerise)

There was me 17 and baldy idiot 16 and a 20year old

So the 16 year old asked me if i took art because over the hour i had drawn quite the doodle on my folder.

I said no, but i had taken photography in my old college.

He said "i was going to tak photography, but i saw a gay person doing it, so i thought 'Fuck that'"

Me: "What's wrong with gay people?"

Him: "Well they're just weird aren't they?"

Me: "Why for being like anyone else and loving who they want?"

    Him: "Are you gay like?

Me "NOR, DON'T BE DAFT!....My boyfriend is though"

    Him: *face of shock*

Me: "Exactly, so watch who you're talking to next time eh?"

So I'm hated by half of my class after that.
    Which is just great.

The other half think i'm a freak.

    All fun and games.

    ¬_¬

I'dve just walked out of college and never returned.

But my boyfriend and best friend persuaded my otherwise.

Be strong, they'll get over it. At least that's what happened to me. Now I'm the bully and they're the pests that need stomping. >

Forgive me if this sounds mean, but the way I read this, it sounds like you're ready to bail out on college because some random fucktard was a homophobe. Of all the random stupid reasons to bail out of college, that one is certainly random. And stupid.

As for that incident with the random fucktard, I think you handled it well.

Oddly, when I read "Class Homophobe", I thought of those picture sections they used to have in the yearbook (annual). Do they still do those? Most Likely to Succeed, Best Couple, Class Clown, Class Homophobe.

You played it great. Now stick up to it. Leaving shows him that you're something to be ashamed of. Sticking around shows him that HE is.

Not surprising here either. With both my autism and gayness, I was liked yet not popular. I mean people were nice and friendly to me, yet when it came to running for President of Students Council and 2nd Vice Prez, I wound up both times getting like 24 votes of 600 kids. Harsh huh?

Don't you go to my old college? Never had any problems with it myself, I'm guessing it's a few exceptions and not the rule.

Well I was at Guisborough one wasn't I (not sure if i can give the college name out)

But i've moved now. (again not sure if i can say which one)

I'll just say it and martin can shout at me later if i can't

    Yeah i was a Prior
    but now i'm at Boro

it's okay, and there is a LOT of diversity.

We even have a diversity manager which is odd.

It's just nice to know that half of my class want me in a noose
and half want me to be anywhere but near them.

    I'll live.
    It's only 2 and a half days a week.

I know the feeling, 'cept I just had a whole morning of two twats trying to 'outman' each other by showing how masculane their music tastes are, and commenting on how gay the others music is. ugh, and these are middle aged profesionals..

It'd be hard for him to talk trash with a pencil sticking out of his neck.

The thing is... if you simply go on with the class, demonstrate competence, or even hyper competence (which shouldn't be difficult if everyone else is a dumbass) then I suspect the other person's opinion will likely change.

Homophobia is generally a byproduct of fear. People are afraid of what they aren't familiar with. Once they meet someone and find that they really aren't any different from themselves, that fear goes away, at least, in most cases.

It's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not.

While it may seem better to repress the self for the adoration of others, denial of one's true nature can only lead to suffering.

Hmm. Well, I can tell you that about 90% of Boro college are gay. Off the top of my head I could name quite a few... So homophobes probs won't last long.

I'll start nabbing your band practicing studios in a couple of weeks when my band can get them =D
