Okay, I realise that this doesn't happen til the 19th (Saturday) but I want to remind everyone of this date, as it is an important date in the religions of Pastafarianism and (everyone's favourite

) Pirateninjudaism.

So, what is everyone doing to celebrate? Are you going to remember the date by doing the talky talky (Yarr, me hearties! Let us have a stonking great knees-up on me ship and drink the grog dry! Wenches! Prepare to be boarded!) or do you plan to dress up like a pirate too? Or are you going the whole hog and having a great Pirate party as some do?

I for one am doing the Pirate lingo, as well as bringing out my beloved pirate headband (as modelled in my avatar) so on EC, I warn ya, scurvy bilge rats, my usual talk is going to be replaced by the words of the sea dogs! Yarr!

In Melbourne on Saturday there's a "Pirate Parade" in the city. My plans or Saturday might be cancelled, and if they are I'm totally going.

And I'll think of you while parading, Holly. (And I still can't decide whether it's sad or awesome that my sister and I had all the components of a pirate costume lying around.)

I spent several hours today roaming the streets with a big group of pirates, frightening tourists, cornering ninjas and amusing small children. Day well spent.
