Default Former ex gay survivor testomines.

Here is a link to former ex gay survivor testomies. The ex gay movement organisations like exodus has screwed up thousands of people. The link is:
http://www.truthwinsout.org/category/videos/survivors/

Anyway a few years ago I was a part of an ex gay ministry called Exodus, and another conservative christian organisation supposed to cure people from homosexuality. Anyway the guys that went through it were never cured from homosexuality. Anyway the teachings of it and the churches screwed up the best years of my life. I only began to accept my sexuality at a slow process starting a few years ago, after I turned 30 and that is considered old for many on this site.

The "cure rates" as reported by those organizations are absurdly low. Like 30 %

And of those, a good number revert to their homosexual ways before long (sometimes after a failed hetero marriage), another portion live asexually, and another portion work for the ex-gay ministry... until they revert to their homo ways.

Thanks for speaking out against these organizations. They are very harmful.

And keep in mind that they define "cured" as anyone who goes through the program and SELF-REPORTS that they are less interested in the same sex. Generally it's mostly aversion therapy, that they are less interested in the same gender not because they are less attracted, but because they're fearful of the outcome if they were to have a same-sex relationship.

Well when I was going ex gay organistations I was failing university and did not really feel good about myself. It stunted my goals and dreams. Since I began to accept myself as gay my university performance gradually went better. I still have self esteam issues but now I feel more at peace at myself and happier than when I was in the closet and thought that being gay was so wrong.

And, really, they're not decisions either.
