Choose one of these: http://www.socionics.com/advan/prof/prof.htm There are 16 basic personality types. Everyone fits one, but everyone is different because everyone fits one to varying degrees. In building a character, you might want to start with one of these, going by exactly what it says (ie. the ultimate stereotype of that personality type) and then as you build/develop your character, you can refine it and add in the shades of gray to make it more realistic.
