I recently found out that the college I really wanted to attend doesn't offer that major. However, they do offer art education, which was another possible major I was considering. My father has been pressuring me to go to community/junior colleges for the first couple years instead of jumping right into a university or what have you. I'm so entirely unsure of what I want to do now. I was so set in what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go, and now I'm just super confused about all of it. :/ If anyone would like to put their two cents in here, I'd really appreciate it. |

However, I know that if I major in Computer Science, it'll make no difference. Rather, it'll be advantageous for the same reason majoring in art would be for you. Videogame programming's a small scope. Computer Science is a HUGE scope. If I major in Computer Science, I'm offered more job opportunities than with a videogame major. I think that if you major in art, you'll be open to more opportunities as well, so don't be discouraged. As for what type of college to go to, I think a standard 4-year college would be better. But that's just me. |

If you really want to major in fashion design then why not find out what other colleges offer it you never know you might find out you really like them to. And if you want to go straight to a university then do, if you think thats what right for you do it it's your future. |

You knock out the two years or so of core classes you're going to have to take at a full university without spending as much money. In fact, I kind of wish that I had taken that route, considering the first two years of my college education were nothing but University/the Arts and Science College's required classes, none of which (literature excepted) had anything to do with the degree I am about to finish up now. So honestly, just by hearing from other people who did it, it is a pretty good thing to do just to get the basics out of the way. But, at the same time, you have to be careful--a few of these friends have also had problems with their credits not transferring properly. |

One reason I'm not too fond of this route is because, and this is going to sound a little stupid, but a friend and I were planning on getting a place together, somewhere between where ever we both decide to go. Personally, my dad drives me up the wall the majority of the time I'm home. He enjoys teasing me and just saying shit he knows will piss me off, and I really don't want to put up with that longer than I have to. I really would like to move out, but, I don't know. There wouldn't really be a point of doing that if I went to the community college because it is so close to home. The schools I was looking at for that scenario were about an hour and a half/two hours away. |

And then go to a university after two years Everything goes right i'm going to Community College in the winter time for occupational therapist after two years i can work as an occupational therapist aide while going to a university. But whatever you decide the best of luck to you.

You want a school that can provide either route and maybe even some routes you never expected to like.

I've seen idiots come out of the ivy league, and excellent folks come from community college. How much of a savings it the community college? Major? Because it's one thing to ask your father to shell out a lot of money for a college that you really want to go to with a degree you really want...but another to ask him to shell out a lot of money for a college because "my friend's gonna be there". So I'd say pick the community college. But there's no reason for you not to find a place of your own if you're unhappy at home. That doesn't have to be contingent on you going to school far away.
