Default are they allowed to do this ?

So last year i got written up for PDA at school the principal made it abundantly clear i was gay to my mom , today my friend got wrote up for pda and the same principal made it a fact that he is gay to his HOMOPHOBIC dad who he is closeted to because he doesn't know what will happen to him ...... this principal has removed GSA posters [ btw this is a assistant principal] is he allowed to do this i have a closet gay friend who heard him say and i qoute "with that on you look like some stupid fa***t he also he follows the open gay students to try to write them up for anything he can , should i go to the head principal about this WHO allowed us to start a GSA and is open minded and btw he doesn't "see" the straight couples kissing or hugging or etcetera and they do it nearly constantly and if he isn't actually seeing it it is because he is watching the gay kids to try to write us up for something

PDA= public display of affection
GSA = gay striaght alliance
write up= referral

do talk to your real principal about this,

mind you,

there`s only one thing principals are afraid of: their superintendents.

there`s only one thing the superintendants are afraid of: the school board

there`s only one thing in turn the school board is afraid of: public opinion.

If even the superintendents and the school board will not listen to your case, make such a huge deal out of this that they have to step back from their imposing actions. Have a holy war against prejudice against the sexual minorities. If we had a principal like that, I`d want to punch something real hard.

Totally not cool. You definitely should go see the principal. Get this homophobe straightened out (lol no pun intended) or fired. Witch ever he prefers.

Bigotry cannot be tolerated. If it is not corrected, its accepted. Simply being apathetic towards social injustice will only fuel the problem further.

This was another PSR (Public Service Rant) brought to you by Darin. lol

Totally go to your principal, the school board, whatever. He has no right to do that whatsoever.

The first thing I would do is contact PFLAG Little Rock. Here's their contact info

PFLAG Little Rock
PO Box 2300
North Little Rock, AR 72114
pflaglr@gmail.com
Phone: (501) 244-9690

It's highly likely that there are parents in that chapter that have children in your school, or at the very least, in your school system. If you can enlist the help of a couple of people from PFLAG to help bring the situation up, it will register a lot more strongly on the principal or superintendent.

You may also want to do some legwork (PFLAG may be able to help you with this) to determine if there are any non-discrimination policies already in place in the Little Rock school system that apply to sexual orientation.

Whether there are written policies or not, it sounds like you already have some support from your principal, and I would basically collect the information, ask for some extra help, and then go meet with him. It's not easy going against someone who is considered an authority figure, and the more well prepared you are, the more the principal, or at least the superintendent, will be likely to help you.

Please keep us informed of the progress.

Ugh, that sucks, and I can relate. My school principal is a total homophobe who has frequently shot down the idea of starting a GSA and even tried to make it impossible for the school to do the Day of Silence.

Unfortunately, the rest of the school system isn't much better. Where we live there's no special PFLAG system or majorly gay-rights public opinion. Just a bunch of southern baptist rednecks who believe that "goin' to God's house every Sunday mornin' and goin' out ridin' four-wheelers and shootin' up some bucks" is the way people should live, and that "bein' a f**kin' f**got isn't what our lord Jesus wanted and He's gon' send y'all to burn in Hell for y'all's disgustin' sins." (Believe it or not, I'm not exaggerating. You don't want to know how many people I've met who ACTUALLY talk like that.)

But yeah. You get my point.

headmasters are THE WORST when it comes to this.
mine found out, and decided all the "high ranking" people should know (headmaster, technition, deputy, KS4 advisor etc.)

luckily I was able to talk to a very close friend, who was in charge of KS4. she then told them not to say anything towards my parents. I told my family shortly after.

tbh, if they know, they shouldn't rub it in your face like you don't have a right to that information >.>

though granted, your school is worse, it seems nearly every gay person I talked to have had or known the headmaster getting personal with this information.

I suggest you do go ask him. and tell him exactly what you've heard, and what's happened.

I would be very surprised if there isn't a PFLAG somewhere near you. Check out the main pflag.org site and search for a local chapter. If there isn't one, think about starting one! I guarantee there are people in your area that are LGBT that need help and support if it isn't already there

Damn. That sounds really crappy. Go talk to the head principle about it, because what they're doing definitely is wrong.
Keep in mind though, being written up for PDA is obviously in the school regulations, but not caring about outing students and the stalking part is plain wrong.
