I got my braces off yesterday after 3 years!
YAHOO!!!!!

I'm so excited. I got my retainer today and I've been gagging on it. Lol.

So yeah! Just thought I'd throw that in there.

How many of you guys have graduated the school of braces?

i had em for a year. it was pretty minor. and i never wear my retainers. if my teeth go crooked i don't care, i can't even tell the difference from before and after.

but i do remember the day i got them off felt like christmas day. i was so happy to be rid of them.

I was thrilled to get mine off too!

It felt so odd feeling just my teeth for the first time after so long! Even eating is a different experience. I love it.

I know how it feels. It was so weird to get them off after having them for so long, but it is such a good feeling. I kept running my tounge acroos my teeth just to check that they weren't there any more, lol.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I had mine on for a long time. The retainer is annoying at first (mostly because you're enjoying not having braces on!) but you get used to it. xD

Congrats! I got mine off a year ago, then had one retainer with fake teeth on it because I was born without a pair of adult teeth. Then I got some bridgework with fake ones and got to ditch the retainer. Except I'm getting a new one next week.

Anyways, advice: wear your retainer. Sounds stupid, but lots of people don't, and I know people who've had to get braces back on. Also, is it cutting up your lips/does it hurt? I always thought my retainer hurt worse than my braces at first.

Got my braces off about 6 years ago, but I still remember how weirdly smooth my teeth felt when it was done! I wore my retainer about once, thinking "How much can my teeth really change now?" Tried it on a week later, it didn't fit properly any more...my teeth are still straight though.

I got mine off six days ago! It feels so amazing. Honestly, I about orgasmed when I bit into an apple for the first time in two years. It was awesome. Now I just need to get my teeth whitened, because they grew in abnormally dark.

I used to run my tongue over my teeth too! But I can stop myself now. x D

I stopped gagging on my retainers though! Thank gawd. I don't know how long I would have been able to keep them in if I gagged every 30 seconds. Lol.

i remember the day i got mine off, had them for 18 months. it know it's not bad but just glad they are off.
JUST MAKE SURE TO WEAR YOUR RETAINER, I've known loads of people who didn't and had to have their braces put back on.
