Does anyone else remember their coming out day? Mine was 8 months ago today, on March 25th.

hmmm. Mine was a two weeks ago, and no. I do not remember the date. I think it was because it wasn't a big deal compared to finally admitting my sexuality to myself after many years!

Realizing I wasn't straight due to how I felt seeing two women kiss: July 2006
January 08 (my last bf who I didn't explain why we broke up till Aug09)
To my best guy friend who I'd disclose anything: Sept 08
Realizing it myself that "oh dear, I'm seriously at least queer" Jan 28th 2009
To the rest of my friends: Spring 2009
Finally, to myself (I had a lot of internal homophobia): March 2009
To the parents and rest of the world: April 15th 2009 (about Easter..)

Let's see....

- First realized I wasn't straight: Late February to early March 2009

- Told my first person: March 25, 2009

- Completely came out (posted it on Facebook, sent e-mails to my friends, etc): sometime in early October of this year, I think it might've been the 8th?

Wow. I actually feel really good about myself because I've come such a long way in a short amount of time.

Hmm... that's difficult. I've "known" I wasn't exactly straight for years, but honestly believed I was straight at the same time. It wasn't until... hmm.. the day before last Halloween that I found out what Orwell meant by "doublethink" and figured it out for myself.

It took two weeks to tell my therapist, another week and a bit to tell my mother (would've happened sooner if not for scheduling conflicts), then I opened up to my boss and brother a day later. That last one was three days ago, so I'm on a bit of a roll.

I can't remember the exact date when i first started coming out, but I know it was a few days before a metalcore show, and I came out to some people there...THAT was interesting :P

Yeah, it wasn't a "one day" event for me. I started realizing I was gay my junior year in college, and I decided I must be early on senior year. I first hit on a guy a few months later (poorly), and then started telling my friends. Soon after I graduated, everybody knew.

I guess I had a coming out year. 1992.

the first time i actually came out to my best friends was new years eve last year. i was TRYING to wait for midnight to actually say it, but my friends kept pestering me at 11:48

i don't remember the date i came out to the public, it was sometime during june, but by then it was more for them to know than for me to tell.

I have no idea when I actually came out to, er, myself. I am just gonna go ahead and say "2009", because lawd, what a process this has been. I'd been questioning for years, but I have excellent powers of denial!

Hm. The first time I actually said anything to anyone, was to my best friend and my brother on April 13th of this year. I know, because after they left, I was freaking out and shaking and I looked desperately on the internet for someone, anyone who I could talk to. And lo and behold, I found a link to EC!

Told some of my longest-standing friends on May 8th, told my dad May 27th, told my mom and my other brother on July 28th. Out on Facebook on October 11th. =P

I figured a lot of people wold give vague answers, because of the process nature of coming out. I came out on stage, so it was more of an event for me. (remind me to tell that story)

New years eve 2005 I told my 4 closest friends. They all took it well and I still have them as friends. The best part is now I can just be "Me" when I'm around them.

First time I had a humongous crush on a guy: 9th grade.
First time I admitted to being gay: 10th grade.
First time I told someone: Summer of '07.
First time I felt comfortable with who I am: Summer of '08!

November 7th, 2007 was the first time I told somebody. It was a really spontaneous thing, but I received a lot of support, and I'm glad that I came out.

I had this big gap between coming out to people. My first coming out was sometime in 1999, but I can't for the life of me remember when. However, I do remember the day I came out to my parents was January 27th, 2008.
