In one day, I blew nearly 400$ O_O My limit was 150-200, so with some xmas-specific groceries and extra stuff I happened to need, it piled up FAST. So i finally get it, why everyone is in debt after the holidays are done xD so yes, just wanted to share. |

| I've got the moves like Jagger Full Member ![]() Gender: ♀ Orientation: Sapphicly inclined Out Status: My closet is for clothes! Location: BC, Canada Age: 23 Posts: 3,111 Join Date: Apr 2009 | Yes, I know how that goes...I feel almost like telling my family to not buy me anything but to rather make me something. I think Christmas has slowly become about getting the best, most awesome gift, rather than the message it portrays... ![]() But on a brighter note, me and friends are going to make gingerbread for houses later and.. it's more expensive than buying the premade kits. But at least we can say we made them. ![]()

I'm making a card for my mom and my dad, a plushie for my brother, and little goody-bags for all my friends (which will contain homemade muffins). It takes a lot of extra time, but to me it's worth it. It's more fun to make gifts anyway. ![]()

| Guest Posts: n/a | Yeah, it's too easy to go into debt on Christmas. I feel like I've been conditioned to believe it's okay to go bankrupt as long as you're getting things for other people. Sometimes I wish I could just buy the crap off my own wishlist and SAVE money. ![]() |

Take a guess ;) Location: Vermont Age: 19 Posts: 546 Join Date: Aug 2008 | I had a budget of about...$120 to get for my mum, her bf, and a few other people. I was only able to afford a few things for my mum and her bf, and 1 item for my best friend. Now I'm glad I quit smoking, cos I would have only had about $100 if I hadn't!!! |

| Well Known Regular Member ![]() Gender: Female Orientation: Bisexual Out Status: Out to everyone Location: Leeds, UK Posts: 226 Join Date: Jul 2009 | I've literally just gotten cheap stuff this year. I don't have a lot of money but I generally find something I know they'd like. Screw getting flashy stuff it's a lot better if there's thought put into it. Katherine's gotten the best idea if we're honest. It means so much more when you make them cause you put yourself into it so really it doesn't even matter if it was something they really wanted or not, they're most likely gonna love it cause your time went into it.
