Attempted US Terror Attack

While the guy said he was connected with Al Qaeda, I don't think he was. Sounds like a random crazy guy to me. :dry:

Its always funny when the US goes major OTT on Al-Qaeda for the smallest things. Like this.

 

I'll be curious to see what kind of explosive was used. So far it's all pretty vague on whether it was something dangerous that went of with a whimper insted of a bang, or something that could have never worked in the first place.

What I do know, is that I shouldn't have read some of the comments below the linked article. A few of those qualify as a terrorist attacks on intelligence and sanity

After all they've done to the U.S. and the world, I'm sure it's acceptable.

 

i think the obsession with al-qaeda and osama is a bit silly. Im worried alot of people seem to think they are the only source of terrorism in the world.

As has been said this is just possibly some extremest idiot, maybe there was no connection with al-qaeda. I think we are all becomming too scared of how much power al-qaeda and bin laden have. They don't have alot. Bin Laden is just a figure head. Al-qaeda is just an organisation that claims responsabilty for alot of things to try and give a false impression of its power and reach. In reality many of these events are just extremists doing it off their own backs, and al-qaeda have no involvement. It seems to me that alot of people are too preoccupied with Bin Laden and al-qaeda. Bin Laden is not lex Luthor! Terrorism will not stop if he is gone.

 

I think this person has emotinal and mental instabilities.

Arent terrorists suposed to be cunning and intelligent? if this is what he/al queida came up with, maybe we are winning the war on terror.

Regardless of whatever the device was, he brought it on the plane and attempted to use it. He failed, and is now completely fucked. End of Story. He's the asshole in this situation, regardless of his race, creed, or intention. And the use of asshole is in its loosest sense (no pun intended) and totally an understatement.
