I finally watched a television show with gay characters without changing the channel or turning off the TV or walking away uninterested....In the open, with my family around. Pretty big step for me. :eusa_clap
That's so awesome! We're so proud of you! Like Confucius said, "Every journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Cheesy, perhaps misattributed quote, but I believe it applies well here. :')
thats great its always good to just let yourself be yourself could take some stress off it and soften it up for an easy coming out. The best thing you can do for yourself is for sure stuff like this where you are just who you are without being afraid of judgement. They are your family after all they will love you no matter what
I know what you mean. I watched the movie, "The Family Stone" (there are a gay couple on there) amongst a large family home for the holidays and it was a tad awkward watching with family but no one turned it off. Mom actually cried in a couple tear jerking parts. It's far from watching "the Lword" with her though  But it's progress. Congrats.
Congratulations man , I've also been doing that lately. So far nobody has said anything (I was expecting my father to say something as he seems homophobic). My mom knows I'm gay, so she doesn't care.
Thanks everyone, heh, it certainly is a small step forward. Very small. I guess I should just skip all the other step in between and just make out with a hottie in front of my family.
