Name some Actors/Characters from TV shows you recently found out were Gay. How did you find out and what did you think? I made this topic because I basically found out this info like today (I'm way out of the loop) and was wondering if anyone else has any stories.

1. Niel Patrick Harris-I was on a site looking up the top 10 Gay actors and saw him on it. I was like "Huh? NPH? Never would have thought he was gay. Good for him."

2. B.D. Wong- I was listening to some Law and Order SVU dvd commentary and they mention it. I thought "Is it just me or have a lot of Asians come out of the closet recently?"

3. Lexington from Gargoyles- I was reading info on a new Gargoyles comic series that is gonna come out and the creator said maybe they can finally reveal that Lexington is gay without having the executives shoot it down. I thought "Wow! I can't believe Lexington is gay! I knew it!" Also I thought "Hmmm. Maybe that is why the forum member Lexington picked that name and pic and it's not just because Gargoyles was a cool show."

I also didn't know Rock Hudson or David Hyde Pierce was gay until I read the top 10 gay actors list.

... until I was on this site I didn't know that Neil Patrick Harris was gay, or Nathan Lane (the latter incredibly recently).

I don't think Christopher Meloni is gay. His bio says he's married with kids. Also what about some characters?

I didn't know Christopher Sieber (the dad from Two of a Kind) was gay until he said so himself in a documentary.

Chris is mucho gay. Love him. He is awesome as lord Farquad in Shrek the musical.

& according to IMDb Meloni IS straight. Bummer...

Apparently it was a bit of an open secret that Ellen DeGeneres was gay before the whole Puppy Episode, but I had no idea. In fact, I didn't really know very much about her period.

And as for surprising gay people, I was surprised by Dumbledore's gayness! I really was. Once I knew, it was like "...well, I should have known that!" But I was so clueless.

Wanda Sykes- Didn't know til she came out during Prop8,was pleasantly surprised!
Nancy Kulp-aka Miss Jane from the Beverly Hillbillies,that was a shock!
Lily Tomlin- I had an idea
Merideth Baxter- I was like,"no way!" Cool!
Kristie McNichol- Not too surprised!
Sara Gilbert- Had a gaydar experience when she played Darlene on Rose Ann.
Nathan Lane- no surprise there!
I know there's more,I'm just too tired to think.

Meredith was a total surprise for me too.

It's just like she and Matt Lauer said herself right after saying so in the interview. I was one of many people going "What? What?"
