Default Making a Mix Tape...song suggestions?

Hi guys, I don't know if this really fits here or not...but...I'm going to ask here since I can't figure out someplace better to ask. I found out that my girlfriend has always wanted someone to make her an old school mix tape so I want to make her one and send it to her as a surprise. I'm trying hard to find love songs that are good for a girl-girl relationship to include, like just things that don't clearly imply or say a male-female relationship not necessarily things that are clearly for 2 females..., but I'm having a hard time...anyone have any suggestions for me to look at?

"Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis is one of my favourite love songs and even though the singer is straight, the lyrics don't make reference to gender at all, so you can use this if you wanted to.

And they both do specify genders, as being both female.

EDIT; Can't believe I didn't read the first post properly *facepalm* Ah well, still my favourite songs to put on mixes

But some actual HELPFUL suggestions;

Tracy Chapman and Melissa Etheridge do a lot of great love songs. Anouk's song "Lost" is good too.

I know that "Stand by Me" by Ben E King is sung by a dude, but other than that it's not gender specific.
