Default Why do people still believe this?

Why do the religious people out there still believe that gays can be changed by "embracing God"? This comic makes me so mad. What are your opinions on the comic and on it's message?

Bullshit. And the religious one's probably a closeted lesbian.

They still believe this because they trust their pastor and priests and they tell them these things its a vicious circle of ignorance

I'm not religious at all (i don't need to get into my beliefs now) but having a cousin who go's to church every Sunday, and teaches Sunday school BUT has been taught to love EVERYONE i don't like it either when people say everyone who go's to church or believes in a god/goddess/gods is a nut.

I know you didn't mean it that way, but just make sure to differentiate between a religious person and a religious nut in the future

Religion is good for some people, and just a catalyst to hate for others.

This is exactly what my hyper-religious parents believe. God teaches us to love the homosexual, but hate the sin of homosexuality. Jesus has the power to change us all, and that includes washing away our sin of homosexuality. The only reason we're still gay is because we haven't asked Him to change us yet.

Maybe they want to look like the good guys by attempting to "help" us? Don't know, don't care. If it ain't broken, don't try and fix it. :P

I meant the religious one, the chubby girl, is a closet lesbian. I wasn't accusing every religious homophobe of being gay. That'd be weird. LOL

Seriously. Every time I hear "If you just go with God, you can get over this!" I'm like... Okay. Accepting the premise that an omnipotent god could turn me into a pink weasel if he wanted to, maybe I'm still a huge lesbo because he wanted me that way? I mean, really. Who doesn't love lesbians? >:|

Also, I saw this on the Bad Webcomics Wiki, too. It's apparently from a series called "Truth for Youth". It's worth noting that all the other comics by these people are also full of complete and utter BS! =D

Well, your talking about the extremists, who believe it is their mission to point out sinners in order to win God's favor. I'm sure someone has already said no all folk are like this, and yes we get it we all know no every single religious person out there is like this.

I guess it all comes down to a right and wrong...people love to be right. They give up all their happiness for it, they kill for it...all so they can say "I'm right and you're wrong!"

All so they can tattle to some father figure that shakes a finger at you from 2,000 years ago.

Just remind them that God says vengence is mine, so if he has a problem with being gay then he will deal with it.

Then ask them if really think the Bible is so right on every subject then ask them how many slaves they own.
