Default Pastor takes credit for death of congressman

http://freestudents.blogspot.com/201...-be-found.html

Quote:
It seems to be true, that anytime you can't find a rational explanation for the way someone behaves, look for an irrational one. And that usually means religion. A case in point was the recent death of Congressman John Murtha.

Southern Baptist minister Wiley Drake suggested to his congregation, in an email, "Maybe God took him (Murtha) out. Maybe God answered our imprecatory prayer that we prayed every 30 days." Apparently Drake and his congregation put Murtha on a divine hit-list. They would ask God to kill people and in their prayers would name who they wanted the God Father to bump off......
Because it’s incredibly uncommon for 77 year olds to die on their own.

i don't know if them taking credit should be a bad thing or a good thing.

on the one hand, they feel all superior. and that's no good cause they just keep going.

on the other, they're basically telling people that they are proud that they and their version of God are murderers, and either people will think they're even more insane than they already did, or just think they're completely deplorable for it.

i don't think anyone is going to give them the pat on the back that they would like though.

Wow. Just wow. I highly doubt they had anything to do with him dying.

Crap. Crap. Crap.

It's this kind of insanity that ruins what is good about Christianity.

Divine hit-list? Nice oxymoron!

That is so wicked. Does that mean God should be arrested for murder?

I say let the Christians take credit for killing a Congressman! This will just better serve the purpose of making all of their ideas look ridiculous.

Oh yes. Although I am not religious I still think that these kinds of stories really distort what religions and believe in God are all about.
