He made THE perfect transition from child star to adult actor which is so rare. He can sing! How I Met your mother is so funny and smart and a all around great sitcom. (and it is crazy ironic b/c he plays such a player who is crazy straight. glad he hasn't been type casted just b/c he came out to the public) and his work with the trevor project is amazing. Like confused102188 said, he does represent the gay community really well. and he sang take me baby or leave me with his boyfriend on a show Seth Rudetsky was hosting. (another great famous gay guy. one of the most openly gay performers I have ever met. He talks about being gay all the time in his shows. even to groups of high school students.)
