am I the only gay republican on this board. Just curious...other than the whole gay thing...and the drinking thing...and well I gamble now and then, and I guess I cuss too much...and I miss church frequently because I'm too hungover from saturday, but I'm a practicing Southern Baptist...other than that i'm fairly right politically. Never voted for a Democrat. Just wanted to know what other thoughts were. Politically speaking that is.

I'm not a Republican, but I'm certainly not a Democrat. Don't worry, there ARE others.

LETS NOT LET THIS TURN INTO A FLAME WAR NOW >_>

But yeah. There are definitely others

no, you're not. I'm not a bible thumper per se, but I am a right winger when it comes to government structure. I am not a limbaugh sheep nor am I a big religious type. I am more of a moderate that leans right.

BUT DEMOCRATS ARE TEH BESTEST!!!! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Democrat here, and I must say I'm being shamed into hating republicans more. But then again, Michelle Bachmann is my representative... ಠ_ಠ

No hatred for the rest of y'all though. Don't worry!

I would consider myself right wing economically in Australia but I couldn't vote Republican if I was American due to their policies on healthcare, welfare and social security.

A lot of LGBT people are conservative (no idea if it's a tiny minority, a significant one, or the majority)...for a given value of conservative. LGBT conservatives tend to be more on the libertarian side than what often gets called the socially conservative side (a term I dislike). And a number of conservatives still don't vote Republican since the GOP pretty much hates us.

There's actually a strong case to be made that the Democratic Party deliberately prevents LGBT rights from being fully realized so that we'll be forced to vote for them in self-defense (rather like how the GOP uses abortion restrictions).

I'm personally extremely liberal, of the "I voted for Obama, but I didn't want to cause he's way too conservative" camp.

I consider myself an independent, but I lean more right than left and I've always voted Republican. And living in Ithaca, NY, an extremely liberal town, for four years hasn't changed that...

Oh, Ithaca is gorgeous (or "gorges" I guess I should say). The natural beauty/landscape is a big part of what brought me here. And I don't mind the politics, it just makes me feel way more conservative than I am...

I guess you can call me the black sheep of my family because they are all pretty conservative while I am very liberal. I voted for Obama and proud of it. My parents really wanted Sarah Palin to be president. Sorry but all I could do was laugh at them. To be honest I was a little shocked by how many conservatives there were on here. Almost all the gay people I know are very liberal and I live on the conservative side of Washington State.

I am still alittle young so i haven't decided yet. I'm too much of a dumb blond to really understand the difference in the two parties.

I'm not a Republican, but I'm not happy with the Democratic Party right now, either. I'd say I swing towards socialism at the moment.

I guess I'm out of the political closet, now. XD

I am a true blue Democrat! However I must say that they need to get there balls out of the closet! They need to get out there and listen to the people or they will loose too many seats in Congress in November. I'm sick of everyone trashing Obama too. He's a big part of the system (obviously) and he needs to buck up and get going.

I'm not into the whole choosing one side over the other personally, but that's just me. I have some strong beliefs that would group me on either side.

You can't be the only one. Have you ever heard of the Log Cabin Republicans? They include Gays and Lesbians.
