Just takes practice. It definitely gets better over time. But as one of my friends says, you have to learn to separate out between your gaydar and your hope-o-meter (when you see a hot, obviously straight, guy and mistakenly think he's gay because you wish that he was.)

I have a pretty accurate gaydar, but that does my know good. I could tell you who is gay guy in a snap, but my lezdar is worthless. So I am pretty much in the same boat as all of you :frowning2:

mine is generally quite good, but the hope-o-meter does throw me off my senses. Same with guys who just totally aren't my type, because i'm not at all attracted to them it doesn't even cross my mind that they might be gay, which is stupid.

If yours is broken, find somebody's who isn't, and lean on them. I know guys who are NEVER wrong. The few times it looked like they were, the guy ended up coming out years later.

i could care less about gaydar. i want a who-likes-me-dar. so what if i know they're gay; i can't really start a conversation with, "hey, i saw you from across the room and noticed you like men"

I have a friend like that. We refer to him as the gaydar Jedi. He's accurately picked them out 10 years before they came out. The amazing thing is, he's totally straight, probably the only straight guy I know with gaydar, and as with Lex's friends, he's never wrong.
