When did you realise you were gay? or have you always known?

Its a question i've been wanting to ask someone seeing as no one my age seems to be gay!

For me it was a case of seeing a guy walk into my class and being totally blown away and realising i was gay. Although when i did discover i was gay i could see things about me/my childhood which could point to it.

So whats the deal guys?

Started to realise I was noticing girls far more than guys when I was about 16, but ignored it for a few years. I was pretty much certain by the time I was about 19. I'm a bit of a late bloomer compared to others, I started coming out to people when I was 20.

I realised when I was 11 and started coming out when i was 15, pretty early it seems!

Well, I realized that I liked women to some extent after I dated a guy for the first time.
I started realizing that I liked looking at my hot female teachers than I did looking at my own boyfriend. XD
I figured I was bi, until I fell in love with a girl, and realized I really was not interested in the male gender at all in a dating sense.
Looking back, it was really obvious, but I didn't really even think about it until I hardcore crushed on a girl.

Some people just don't think about it at all until they find someone they're really interested in.

Uh, let's see. Somewhere around the end of middle school I was like "I could go either way; I'd say I'm bi." In high school I kept that to myself and avoided all relationship type stuff like the plague. Sophomore year in college saw some things happen and I actually said something to someone about it, and a good while later I realized that girls didn't really do anything for me sexually, and it was all down hill from there.

So "known" for sure that girls were not my thing? About age 20. Unconsciously known? About 15/16.

I was thirteen. But then, looking back, I realize I was totally gay before that. Like, crushes on Mulan and Meg from Hercules, wanting to kiss elementary school friends, tons of stuff like that.

I started looking at guys more around 5th grade, though I know I probably had a crush on a guy back when I was a little kid. I started masturbating to guys starting 7th grade (never did it to women) though still thought I was straight. It wasn't until freshman year in high school that I realized, "Hey...I'm probably gay."

Between 10 & 11. While whacking off one day my mind just sort of shifted to guy on guy. My first year of middle school in the locker room was when I first realized an attraction to the boys around me.

Well, I had this monster crush on my camp counsellor when I was like 10 (He was really, really good-looking. I mean REAAALLLY good-looking.) I went a day thinking "Oh my God, I'm gay". I actually thought that to myself, but I talked myself out of it, because I didn't know anyone who was gay - I always thought it was only other people. But ya. I pretty much forgot about it afterwards, but I recalled it soon after I really realized my attraction to males (Which would be November 2008, I believe?)

The summer between 6th and 7th grade.

One day the idea just came into my head that i wanted to see a hot dude. It all happened very quick xD Strange/beautiful time TBH I didn't have a problem with it and i wasn't in denial. I was just worried about what everyone else would say. But then again, i always am xD

I've always known. I mean, from day one I knew I liked guys. I didn't know there was a word for it. I actually thought I'd have to be a girl in order to be with a guy - which even at age 5 I was pretty gung-ho for.

I found out that two guys could be together around age 12 maybe. I honestly don't remember exactly when. xD

I have always known that something was "different" about me when growing up, but I had no idea at that age what it meant. I was fairly late at discovering my sexuality because of various personal events that affected me during my early teen years, and those really stopped me from just having an ordinary life that would have given me the opportunity to spot what was different about me. I had an idea I wasn't attracted to girls, but I just wasn't in the frame of mind to actually try and explore what it meant.

I was eventually 16 when I actually realised my sexuality, and I never really battled with it. I knew I was gay, but I was more concerned about what other people would think of me. I joined EC at 17 with no plan to come out and not really knowing what to do with myself, and then it taught me to get the self-confidence that I needed and I met some really amazing people he encouraged (and helped) me to come out. Most noticably, Paul, Becky and Louise played a major role in helping and I am eternally grateful for that.

Since then I have accepted myself and have a long-term relationship with a guy named Mike, and I have also met local LGBT groups as well as playing an administrative role on here. I'm hoping to take up a more active role at my Uni's LGBT society, but I want to make sure that I can balance it all first.

freshman year..i was..16ish. there was this goth girl and my lord. wooo. i knew then something was up.

freshman year of high school i had my two first guy crushes. one of them who i'm still friends with today, and i believe is engaged to his girlfriend (he never knew i liked him. plus he was new when i liked him)

AND my earth science teacher. oh my god! i sat in the front and stared at him all day he was so yummy. at that point i accepted that i was bi. but of course in the end i was just gay. but oh man i'll never forget him. so hot

Looking back, my first known female crush that I remember was when I was 10. Although I was really close with a female friend when I was 7 or 8 and cried for the longest time when she moved away...

I thought something was wrong with me when I wasn't really attracted to guys in highschool. I thought it was because I was depressed (I hated highschool) but as the depression lifted and I saw two females making out, something clicked in me. I thought I was bi from then till age 19/20 when I watched the Lword and had my first girl experience. When I made out with my first girl, I knew for sure, that I was gay.

I don't really know. I went back and forth on sexual orientation (and asexual vs. sexual) for years. I started identifying more strongly as gay than bi towards the end of my sophomore year of college.

Not to sound cliché but on some level I definitely always knew but I accepted it as definite fact at 12. So I guess 12.

i was 11 when i first knew i liked a boy. although the very first one was when i was 7. i thought the pitcher on my baseball team was the most perfect thing ever lol but i had no idea what that meant cause i didn't know what liking someone was. funny, i knew it wasn't normal, but i just forgot about it for a long time. between that time i liked a couple girls and a few guys too but nothing really registered.

but after 11 it was all boys all the time. i dated a couple girls for appearance in 8th grade then high school but i didn't even wanna kiss them. i did kiss the second girlfriend in high school, but as i remember it, i broke up with her the week after lol.

well i first saw porn when was very very young because i had a friend whos parents didn't have child locks on their TV channels, i found myself much more interested in the guys involved even back then and that was before 2cnd grade.....
