I got up at 4:30 AM this morning and drove to Eugene, Oregon (3 hours) where I facilitated my very first PFLAG State Council meeting. I have been asked to be the coordinator once the person who does it now has served her time limit. I was hoping to find a new President for my chapter first but not sure that's going to happen. Its so hard to get people to step up! Anyway, the meeting went great! We had the Veterans for Human Rights come do a presentation on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." One of them was discharged under this when he revealed to his military based therapist that he was gay and he reported him. I guess military doesn't have confidentiality laws. Grrr.... We also had a transgender speaker and founder of TransActive do a presentation. Can't wait to march with PFLAG in Portland Pride on June 20th! If any of you are there, yell at me!
I've told you once before, but I feel it needs repeating. Thank you. You're an awesome person for your dedication to this cause. So, thanks
I've have only been here for a short period of time but I already have a tremendous amount of respect for you you are an amazing mom
