*sigh* xD Is there anything needed to be said really? xD This reminds me of the episode of South Park, with the vampire kids vs the goth kids xD

uhh hello, taylor lautner as a werewolf. it's EXACTLY the same thing.

i wonder if they realize that they're posers doing this for attention..

"accepted for who you are, where you are, what you are" --you know, as long as you wear a tail dark makeup and dye your hair different "natural" colors

i'm just a little worried it might actually catch on.. like..really? south park beat you to it and you're still going through with it?

i remember in middle school and the beginning of high school i went through fashion oblivion and i look back at it and blush a bit. i'm afraid that when these kids get older and look back on this they're going to literally die.

I don't see it as anything new though.... Sometimes, we all need a "community" that we feel we belong to, especially when we don't feel too welcome in the "larger community".

And sometimes, to add a sense of cohesiveness, we add distinctions to our "community" to feel special and different.

    Sounds familiar?

    I'm half-octopus y'all.

I've never seen any around my city. People dress emo, goth, scene, etc. but I've yet to see any tails. I don't think it's a problem; as long as they aren't hurting anyone, I think it's perfectly okay. It's the same as jocks hooting and hollering in the halls and artsy folk dressing out-of-the-box.

This reminds me of a MTV show a couple of years back. It was about nobodies wanting to be like the popular kid (I orgot the name of it). One girl and her friends would dress as zombies around school and meet up and talk about zombic things. It was strange, but that was what was comfortable to them.

It's weird and they are a bit hypocritical/dumb with some of their comments, but I guess it hurts nobody so let them do w/e they want.

I love how they are saying that gang members are posers, trying to be something they are not...

UGH... HELLO, YOUR POSING AS SOMETHING THAT DOESNT EXIST!!!

As bob barker said, spay and neuter your dogs...

Meh, whatever. So they don't fit the overarching social norm. BFD. Until they're hurting someone, there's no reason to care.

so gangs tag for attention, but you wear a wolf tail because you want to be ignored?

I'm sure they liked it before twilight made it cool.

If it weren't for all the eyeliner, makeup, bad hair stylings, and novelty contacts I would say they are on to something - just as long as they don't urinate in public.

I miss the innocent days of furries wearing their tails to school (and work). That has a sense of fun, and a sense of "this is what I like doing". I don't recall furries claiming they were actively fighting against the poseurs etc etc. They just like wearing their tails.

i still cant get over that they are calling gang members posers for being in a gang. Gang members tag to warn other gangs of their territory and to intimidate... that is a subtle difference than doing it simply to pretend they mean buisness, cause they ususally do.

If anything, these kids are being the real posers, which is not always a bad thing, but because they are trying to claim they arent posing as anything they arent, when what they are emulating is something that doesnt exist, that seems to me to be the point where it becomes unhealthy.

Just like in the last episode of glee where the twilight girls attacked another character because they were emulating something that is unhealthy to begin with.

why not be who you are, instead of trying to be something that isnt real?
