So, I finally got the dolphin tattoo I drew three years back. Originally, I was going to get it on my side but decided it was better suited for (and cheaper) to get it on my ankle. It's finally done healing and I'm quite pleased with how it came out.

i wanted a tattoo on my left wrist, but now i have a large circular burn just off-centre of where i wanted it to go... i was thinking of just having it done on my right arm but it doesn't feel right anymore

It's supposed to be about as painful as the wrist (Or so I've heard, don't quote me on that

), but when I got my wrist tatt, it was just a little stinging sensation :P

If you ever doubt getting a tattoo, doubt the permanence, don't be afraid of the pain. It's over quickly and then you don't have to worry about it later

Yeah, I'd heard that too. And at first, when I was really tense and nervous, it did hurt, no doubt about it. However, after about ten minutes I managed to calm down relax, and focus on other things. Once you can do that, it honestly is more of an annoyance than anything. So, in short it's only really painful if you allow it to be. Towards the end of it I was practically falling asleep, my friend who went with me kept asking if I was still awake

The only time after the initial few minutes that it bugged me, was when he went over my Achilles tendon... that was pretty unpleasant, although certainly not unbearable.
