So I am definitely androgynous looking and like the Tomboi look. I do tend to wear skirts though, because of my religious background. The end result is a fashion compromise: shortish hair, tiny jewelry, lip shimmer, knee-length casual skirt, sneakers, t-shirt.

I am planning on checking out some of the bars in my city, all of which are "laid-back" places (although some do offer music and dancing). Any ideas/suggestions for outfits/looks I might consider?

Just be yourself, don't dress overly promiscuous, just dress like you're out to have fun

But, in my opinion, there's nothin' better than a girl in a tie

I tend to just wear a shirt or a t-shirt with jeans and Converse when I'm going to any gay bars. Comfort ftw.

Whatever you'd normally wear. I walk by a lesbian bar every day on the way to work, and I've seen absolutely every kind of outfit in there. Most are usually generic casual T-shirt-jeans types, though.

Honestly, wear what you would like to be seen as. I mean, if you're really laid back and like the whole jean and t-shirt scene, then do it. Don't get all dressed up and regret not being who you are while you're at the clubs.
Also, if you pick some lucky lady up, you obviously want her to see you as you really are.
