Hi guys, I spent about 10 minutes typing up a huge reply that required a lot of thinking to the prom/gender topic that I thought was very informative and then I find out the thread is closed. Post your other QQs here.
QQ is internet-speak for crying, because the double-Q supposedly looks like a pair of crying eyes. It's mostly used in context like, "QQ more," a response to people who are complaining about something trivial. Basically, he's saying to post things that happened to you that made you sad.
Hmm, a QQ that I have had recently... When my friend slept through our entire hang out? A hang out which had made me say no to catching up with someone I haven't talked to properly in ages because I already had this one set up? Yeah, that was a tad upsetting but I got over it pretty quick.
Yes, QQ is used as a crying 'smiley' face. I don't normally think of it as a "QQ more" way to use about people complaining. I usually use it when I complain about something I think is silly, but still upsets me. For example : I missed killing something on my video game QQ. Obviously not extreme horrible but annoying. Just post what pissed you off or made you sad today or rant here!
Via Urbandictionary.com "Contrary to popular belief, QQ is not a set of crying eyes. It actually originated with the advent of Warcraft II. On battlenet, you could press ALT+Q+Q to immediately exit the match and program. Thus the term "QQ" was to tell people to just quit because they are unskilled. The term later developed and lost it's origin and is usually mistaken as crying eyes. In contemporary gamer culture, QQ has become the mainstream emoticon for crying eyes, though it is still often used in it's traditional sense." I have to agree.
