I'm going to my first shadow cast showing! Since this is my first, I need to know what to do when, and also how to make a good costume.

    http://www.rockyhorror.com/participation/virgins.php

Go to this link, its a guide to seeing Rocky Horror for the first time  If you go to the home menu and then 'participation' you can get a list of props and when to use them, some "Rocky Horror Etiquette", and a FAQ page. I hope you have a super fun time!

Have fun! It's an awesome experience, don't be afraid to tell them you're a virgin. I never did my first and I kind of regret that experience too!!! :astonished:)

At live Rocky Horror shows, a "virgin" is someone who's never seen it live before. They get kinda picked on at the show, but its funny and all in good fun.

I get what a virgin is. I just want to know what kind of ritual this could be...

Not quite sure actually, I just re-read it... My first time at Rocky Horror they didn't do any ritual or whatever, they just targeted us with the props and stuff. Throwing the rice at us, squirting us with water, things like that. :/ Now I'm curious as to what it meant too...

Ahh but the unexpected ritual is much more memorable! Mine definitely was.

Awesome! My school is having a shadow cast version as well. Too bad I won't get to see it, since I'm going out of town. :frowning2:

Have fun though! Let us know how it goes!

Last night I went to a show, and the virgins had to stand in front of everyone while the audience spelled out 'virgins' (Gimme a v! Gimme an i! etc.) They all got signs with a letter on them and a character with the letter (Janet was v, Brad was i, etc.) It was funny, but the ritual probably changes from theater to theater.
