So being gay and closeted meant I didn't date much. Now that I'm out and dating I'm realizing that I don't really have a lot of ideas of things to do. I mean it is November and it's too cold to do warm-weather things but not cold enough really to do cold-weather things. So what are some creative things people do for dates?
most of the dates ive gone on involve going out for lunch and then wandering around the city and finding things that you never knew were there before. Another fun idea is going on a hike or a picnic.
Figured I would revive this thread for my own benefit as well. One poster mentioned a romantic meal, which is nice but sometimes can have an awkward feeling depending on the personalities. I like the idea of finding fun things to cook and enjoy flirting around in the kitchen with some nice wine. A food fight can get pretty steamy! I guy with mad culinary skills is SO hot to me.
Going out for cups of coffee is my bread and butter, but also that usually leads to wandering around the city to see things you haven't before.
On most days if we're together, we'd go for coffee. We avoided one shop for a while when one of the girls working asked if we were brothers. You could go for a nice slow walk in a park, and find a quiet corner to kiss. And have the occasional night out to the cinema or a comedy club.
Personally i would like someone to invite me around to theirs one evening, cook me a nice dinner, and feed me chocolate in front of a good film. However, more creatively, i was once told that golf is a great date, because it allows innocent bodily contact between the two parties, thus getting over one of the more difficult hurdles. Tho that relies on one of the two being able to play golf and show the other how
YES! So most of the dates I have been on have been relatively successful. A couple of the best ones were where we went to a museum or an art gallery. It's warm, it's inside away from the terrible snows of the north, and can be educational as well. Along with the added benefit of having things to talk about literally in front of you. Another fun date is ice skating, if so inclined. It makes good use of the weather (or arena). Same can be done with skiing if you are able as well. Though the chair lift can get awkward. Going to a local team game, like a lower league baseball or hockey game can be fun too. There you can people watch as well and conversation can flow easily or stop without awkwardness. If you are feeling perschnippidy, you can go to the symphony. Classical music with interludes for conversation. It's fun to look schnazzy and spiffy and to see one heck of a show.
How about bowling? 5 Pin is cool. What about a community dance? 2nd vote for the comedy club. Indoor mini golf. Indoor paintball Lazer tag / arcade.
