Default Visiting Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA

I am planning my spring vacation. I am looking to go in the March, April time frame. My current plan is to fly into Seattle spend 4 days there, then drive up to Vancouver and spend 4 days there. That does not include my travel time.

So anything I should see, what part of town should I stay in while in. Do be sure to specify that you are talking about Vancouver or Seattle.

Vancouver: Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain, waterfront, Davie St. Village (a.k.a. gaytown)

I was only in Seattle for a weekend, but I loved the fish market and just wandering around downtown. There's a gaytown there too (Capitol Hill) but my gf and I didn't make it up there.

Yeah in Seattle you should definitely check out Pikes Place Market which is the fish market. haha You should also check out the Space Needle. It has a lot of other attractions around it to see. I don't go to Seattle very often so I dont know a lot of the places but I am sure if you google Seattle you can find attractions.

Grouping things:
Vancouver Downtown Area:
-Waterfront
-Davie St.
-Stanley Park
-Chinatown is near downtown also (easily accessible by SkyTrain aka subway)
-Robson St. maybe...it's where people kind of hang and shop in downtown vancouver apart from Pacific Centre Mall that's underground.
-Granville St. is a nice walk, and will eventually cross with Davie St.
-English Bay

North Vancouver Area:
-Grouse Mountain is pretty much a skiing place and they recently built a wind turbine up there. I believe you have to take the gondola up (you park at the bottom).
-Capilano Suspension bridge, although if you're not much into nature then skip it ...i find the admission rather expensive...but look it up i guess...

If you're Waterfront (this is pretty much downtown area), there's Gastown thats nearby, then i believe Yaletown. After it would be ideal to go around areas of interest nearby, such as Canada Place or the new convention centre. You could take the Sea Bus if you wanted to and cross the Burrard Inlet to Londsdale Quay (North Vancouver Area) (the tickets are based on time limit rather than per ride - but i believe you will have to get a 2 zone fare pass if you do decide to do this).

All in all, personally i find Vancouver more of a lay back and relax place, there's not that many areas of great interest but its scenery i guess...but it depends if you have any specific activities you would like to do in mind (eg. cycling, skiing, etc).

Ok, so plans changed and I had to push out my vacation a few months. I am targeting the end of May, beginning of June.

So I am trying to figure out hotels. Some quick google searches leads to be believe that in Seattle I want the South Lake Union area.
