So recently, a few of my friends started this community project to bike across Canada to help raise donations for Meal Exchange.

[Yes, I am doing some advertising here, but hear me out a little because I do feel that this has a potential for huge impact.]

Organised by only a handful of individuals, this project aspires to raise $50,000 for Meal Exchagne. If nothing else, this should inspire other small communities around that are afraid of taking on community projects due to the lack of human resource. Perhaps, what they lack in numbers, they can more than compensate for with passion, will and commitment.

This really reminds me of when I was actively volunteering for the LGBT community - sometimes we get really deterred by the lack of human resource and volunteers; I am sure those who have experiences in coordinating school or community LGBT clubs can relate to me somehow. EmptyClosets was also a community project that started small, and look at its impact! If small groups of people around the world get inspired, it would be unimaginable what we would be capable of achieving!

    FYI:
They're also trying to raise awareness and trying to get Rick Mercer's attention right now. So if you could 'like' their status on his facebook page, that'd be great:
