I have an obsession with Paint Ball. I love the competitive atmosphere and the automatic bonds formed between everyone on who plays. There are so many different types of people who play. Only group I've noticed not being represented are GLBT. I wish there were more rec/woods ball players. Anyone here play or ever been interested in playing? If you don't know what it is here's a quick run down.
Thats why your supposed to wear masks. The crotch hit is a risk you take and Ra try it out but be ready to get hooked, kinda happens every now and then.
Hm ,as sport where you shoot other people. I cant peopleenjoy this. Just to show what a violent race we are. 13 days ill be in the army, cant go around shooting people with that rifle .
I've thought about it, but none of my friends are into it. . . I did have a teacher that loved to go paintballing lol. I wanna do it once before I die, so that I can see what's it like.
Getting shot really doesn't hurt that much, the worst thing about paintball the times i have done it is the muscle fatigue the next day, from so much adrenaline fuelled running, especially running while crouching! i couldn't walk properly or go down stairs at all for days after my first time.
The one chance I had I wasn't allowed to try. Dad knew someone who lost an eye playing so he stopped me from going.
Well, since this is about 'odd ball sports', does anyone else play English Billiards? It's my favourite cue sport to play (it's not that exciting to watch, much prefer snooker), but unfortunately it seems to be dying =(
If you disagree with violence, why are you going into the military? I think paintballing is pretty cool, but my weird sport of choice is spelunking. It is so scary. And so fun. Also, geocaching... and parkour... This is fun too:
I see it more as a game of tense tag but I see where you're coming from. I don't understand why people are loosing eyes though. You're supposed to wear really cool masks at all times around live paint and if you are not on the field you must have a cover on the barrel at all times as well. Cave diving looks like fun I would want to try that soon, so many underwater caves in my area. The sport part of it being diving without an air tank.
For the whole eyesight deal my friend had a mask on but it malfunctioned and fell apart as he was getting shot. He wasn't even that concerned until we had finished and after several eye washings had continued blurred vision.
my mouthpiece broke after being shot, and the ball impact split my top lip... It wasn't a serious injury (though the paint tastes AWFUL), but yeah, the masks are not foolproof.
I would love to do parkour..... It's a natural progression from stage combat (which counts as a sport when you call it 'wrestling' and which I have no one else to mess around with here).
