I don't want to start a political debate, we all know how far that will get us, so let's leave our persuasions at the door for the time being and keep this thread about hatred and racism, not whether donkeys or elephants are better. GovTrack rates Ed Royce, the congressman in this video, as "moderate". Is it really this bad? I mean, obviously the video isn't faked... But i'd like to think that this is an extremely exceptional occurrence. How did it get to the point where pandering to hatred started to seem like a good idea to people holding public office?
at the start if I was being shouted at I'da ran up and been all like "HOW WE DOIN EVERYONE!!!!" just for the lawls, no seriously though, this is just wrong. "one nation under god not allah" allah, literal translation: God
1) There is a lot of Islamophobia in America (but I don’t think it’s any worse than in Europe). 2) Bush was able to keep the Islamophobes and anti-Hispanic bigots somewhat under control since he left office they’ve come out of the woodwork. 3) Don’t trust these heavily edited videos they often make crowds worse than they are.
what kind of editing would have been done? [edit] Regardless of editing anyway, coucilwoman deborah pauly does point at the building and describes 'what's going on in there' as 'pure unadulterated evil'. That's still pandering to hatred.
I’m not defending her and don’t know if this video in particular did but a lot of these things floating around go to a protest with large groups of people find a few that say embarrassing things and carrying embarrassing signs then make it seem like everything was like that. City council elections don’t usually involve big issues like this so they can get elected without people having a clue where they stand on these things.
Oh, i see. The crowd itself is the least of my concern, really, it's the people getting up and speaking to them.
"I have a daughter and my son is Marine!" ... Therefore, everything I say must be right. *sigh* I find this sad, the human race is pathetic
if i'd been there i'd have yelled, at the top of my lungs... "Now this is a story all about how my life got flip-turned upside down and i'd like to take a minute just sit right there, i'll tell you how i became the prince of a town called bel-air! ..." etc
