Default High pitched ringing

Do you guys ever get it? When you are a child you have very keen hearing and are able to hear things that adults cant such as high frequency sounds put off by lights, electronics etc. I'm 21 and still suffer from this and I cant go to seep because of it. I walk into a room and I automatically know that a TV is on because I can hear the "hum/ring" and everyone wonders how I do it. I actually wonder as well considering I love loud music and I should practically be def because of the speakers in my car.

I'm still able to hear it as well. It turns out that a lot of muscicians (sp?) are able to hear it late in thier life. I hate it when people have those whistle apps on thier phones wihch make the sound, especially in class. Grrrr

Most people lose that upper range (TVs are at about 15Khz) by their mid-20s, and some earlier.

There's actually a product that some stores are installing where they have problems with kids loitering outside. The device projects a 15Khz tone at high volume outside the store. Most adults can't hear it, but kids can... and it drives them elsewhere. It's come under fire legally but so far it's held up.

Yeah I've been there before. I'm getting it a lot more recently. It's pretty damn annoying, but it goes away after a couple seconds. I just hate getting it in school.

First thing I thought of is those buttons you press when you want your dog to come back to you, and it emits a high-pitched noise only they can hear. Ugh, how annoying.

It happens every now and then too....just one ear sometimes both almost sounds like someone put headphones on with a high pitched ringing. I can still hear around me but my ears almost feel a little cottonballed.

I hear it too, which is surprising considering I've been in a marching band for four years. You think I'd be nearly deaf .

Sometimes I can hear it at night, and it scares the hell outta me.
It may just be because I've been somewhere loud, you know, like your ears ring just after being at a concert. But, when I'm lying there, trying to sleep, it can't be that.

Haha! That was a proper fad in my school a few years a go. Kids would use it as their ringtone so they knew they had got a text, but the teacher didn't. However, other kids could hear it and would tell the teacher on you. ¬.¬ So, people stopped using it because it was pointless if the students weren't going to unite and stick together.

put the palms of your hands on your ears and then put your index finger on top of your middle inger then pull down to make a drumming noise on your head that you are able to hear like a thud in your head. Do that about 50 times or so and the ringing should stop or be drastically reduced
