    actual expert on mayan culture and the mayan calender basically say it is all a load of crap. the calender doesnt end on december 21st, 2012, it only restarts. recorded human history spans the last time the mayan calender reset, and nothing happened... so why should it this time.

    Ember is correct. There is no proof whatsoever about the apocalypse from the Mayans. Just like Y2K was false and everything else..

    Even if the world did end in 2012, would it even be on December 21? With all these fancy leap years and daylight savings times and whatnot? Aren't these time adjustments relatively recent?

    I don't believe in the 2012 predictions. However, some people do, and I'm willing to bet some people are going to bat-shit insane because they think the world is ending. Hopefully, it won't be too crazy in the streets and what-not.

    in the years before 2000, people was scared to death, just waiting for the apocolypse. It seems like every 10 - 15 years, we fear apocalypse. Its crazy!
    dont go around fearing this, just focus about whats good in your life now.
    it seems like everyone is talking about 2012 after the earthquake/tsunami in Japan, its crap!
