I have a friend in Malta who randomly added me a while back and we've been talking ever since. Facebook keeps deleting us from each others friends lists. She's added me twice in the last month or so and today I noticed it's been deleted again..... but I can't find her to add her again. We have no friends in common and she's not coming up in my search results. Has anyone else had issues like this? She's not the only one to be randomly deleted, but she's the only one to keep vanishing after being re-added.

Yep, this happens. Glitch in the server when it's really crowded is my best guess.
But I don't really use facebook, so I could be wrong. It's annoying, though... I couldn't see my friend for months. :\
