Hey guys

As some of you might now, tomorrow, April 5th, is the day of the TOMS event "One Day Without Shoes"! It is exactly as the name suggests.

Essentially, it's all very goodwill, raising awareness for all the people in the world who don't have a choice when it comes to going without shoes, and generally sacrificing something that we take for granted in our everyday life.

Anyone care to join me in barefootedness tomorrow?

I doubt my school will let me (As the oldest members of the learning comunity, our dress code sets a standard for the whole student body, apparently) But I will try...

My old college is doing this, but I'm not. First, I don't even go there anymore. Second, my high school won't let me. Third, I have a fear of athlete's foot. Fourth, I live in Ohio. It's going to be like 40 degrees. No thanks frostbite.

But I admire the cause. I wish I could do more to help.

I'm looking forward to doing this tomorrow I even made a facebook group about this and invited everyone on my frieneds list so far I've got about 1 person doing it with me, 1 maybe and about 48 replys waiting from my friends.

A bunch of kids at my school did this last year and I kinda wanted to, but I have a weird thing about showing my feet in public. But I do admire those who do it

I would but living in New York I know it's going to be cold tomorrow and I have Reynoids (sp?) so unfortunately I need my socks and shoes

I'd love to, as the first thing I do when I get home is remove shoes and socks. However, walking on Toronto sidewalks (grit, occasional broken glass, dog poop) at this time of year (not freezing but close) is a no-go with bare feet.

I thought about it, but I have to walk across roads and sidewalks, and I have a history in my family of diabetes, so we take care of our feet. so no go for me. I wont put shoes on though until I leave for my evening classes.

It rained... Also I live in London, so there was puke/broken bottles on the floor, so I didn't do it.

Correction: 30 degrees. Besides, it was fun convincing my profs to do the same xD

I am whole heartedly not supporting this idea. The fact that you've got shoes and not wearing them, and deliberately looking down on those in the third world, will probably be enough to insult and piss of those people. They do not need your sympathy, because they are struggling in their circumstances honorably and that is what life will be for them.

people challenged the "must have shoe policy" at my school last year and beat it. so they got to wear no shoes xD. i planned to do it this year, buuuuut, my conservative principal had the student handbook changed to say that footwear must be worn throughout the day.....but i'm there in spirit xD

My touchy-feely high school, full of hippies, had a constant problem with the kids not wanting to wear shoes. So the principal and the students searched the school system's policies and discovered there was no requirement that kids wear shoes, except in the gym and the cafeteria. So the school officially adopted a policy that shoes were not required except in those two places. So probably half the school was barefoot most of the time.

It's the "Let's not get suspended from school" Day for me. I would love to go barefoot. I hate shoes. I hate socks even more. But, what are you going to do? The most I can do is take it all off the second I walk into my house.
