Are you a "Grammar Nazi"? If you are unfamiliar with that term, it is someone who constantly notices someone else's grammar mistakes. You don't have to correct them when you see them, you just always point them out to yourself, maybe become a little bit arrogant and say "How could they not know how to do that?"

What are your opinions on people who do actually take grammar too seriously and correct everything wrong that they see?

    I NEED ANSWER! o3o

    Just curious too.

Unashamed Nazi right here. Still can't comprehend how people don't know the difference between their, they're, and there.
I won't go out of my way to correct Internet folk's grammar skills, but I do notice it. Oh, how I notice it...

Oh yes, I do notice mistakes all the time.
I can't say I have the best grammar, but I do think I have it pretty good.

I wont correct it unless someones grammar really irritates me.

I do notice these things, but then I know theres going to be times when I do the same stuff. I do sometimes correct my mistakes but if others can understand what I'm saying then I don't see the harm in any errors there. It also annoys me when people over the internet pick at someones errors just to cause trouble on other forums.

Somewhat of a grammar Nazi here.

Grammar as a whole encompasses word meanings, spelling, and of course the mainstream way we define grammar.

So, a Grammar Nazi is in fact a Spelling Nazi, and a Definition Nazi like me. X-X

(If you want a more exact definition, spelling is an integral part of grammar. Meaning it is one of the many parts of grammar.)

The only thing I correct is
bugs me sooooooo much. It's couldn't. And I cringe every time I see it wrong.

Otherwise I just laugh other mistakes off.

My high school's better-than-expected English curriculum combined with my anal-retentive attention to detail and perfectionism lead me to be a grammar Natzi. I don't bother to correct people's grammar on the internet (I'd be here all day if I did), and I usually don't in real life, but there are certain things I just can't let slide: fewer vs. less, misuse of the word "ironic", good vs. well, and other things I can't think of now.

I'm so sorry to do this and break my rule, but considering the nature of the thread... That colon is superfluous. A grammatically sound sentence would not include it. Superfluous colons are one of the things that really bug me.

GOD YES!! This bothers me so much. Do people even consider the meaning of what they are saying? Think with your brain-words, people!

I notice poor grammar, but I don't feel the need to correct it.

I notice mistakes, but I make a fair share of them, so I don't really care that much when other people make mistakes.

I suck on grammar and I be you're worst nightmare.

Also, I sometimes mess up on purpose just to annoy people. Specially if I know they are anal about it xD (sometimes I just really suck at it though...)

I wouldn't call myself a "grammar nazi", although I do try to steer clear of simple grammatical errors. I'm not bothered when I see mistakes my by others. Not really a big deal to me so long as I can understand what they're typing lol.
