I was just wondering how do you find out if your college has any kind of groups for LGBT people? Well without asking anyway. I'm going to a different college in August and I just want to know if they have any because I don't think they do where I'm at now.

Did you try going to their website and looking there?

What college is it, you can easily find out on the school's website

If it's a decent sized college, then probably yes. Your best bet is a google search. Otherwise, try your school's website, or see if your Students' Union (or whatever local facsimile you have) has a decent website, they may have some links to on-campus groups.

I've done some research for a LGBT group that was looking to connect with other area college groups. I found it easiest to go to the college/university's website, then look for a link like "student life" and then for a link similar to "student organizations". If there is a LGBT group it usually will have a web presence.

You might also check to see if you can find a group page on Facebook or Myspace for the particular college, as they are becoming increasingly popular methods of communication.

    One word: Facebook.

As the GLBT groups at my college aren't college-sponsored, there wasn't any info on the school's website. I was able to discover what groups existed by doing a couple searches on Facebook (try searching for terms like "gay" and "GLBT").

The GLBT group at my college posted flyers all over the place, so just take a look at one of the bulletin boards. You might find their posting.

I'm glad you finally found a group! Think you'll go to it, anytime soon? You'll have to tell us what it's like, when you go. I don't know about you all, but I'm curious what different GLBT groups do.

Well its at the college I'll be going to starting in August so it won't be anytime soon but the college I'm at now which is a 2 year college doesn't have any glbt groups so I'm excited that the one I'm going to next has one.
