List of 15 Things to do when turning 18

Uh, I had some cake, got money, then went back to school.

 

I went to a jazz club for dinner.
I registered to vote.
I registered for the draft.

...wish it was more interesting.

This sounds like a good idea, but I never did such a list when I turned eighteen. I'm not sure what I would've put on a list if I'd gone with that idea (apart from maybe learning to drive, which I still haven't done, as well as come out), but it's something for me to consider when I turn twenty-one at least, or even twenty.

Even the common stuff to do after reaching that age I didn't do, nor had interest in (drinking, voting, etc).

 

I got a credit card (Still haven't used it though, almost a year later)

Got excited about signing my own permission slip for school.

Went into a sex shop. Didn't buy anything though.

Got upset when I had to pay an adult price for a movie ticket, as I didn't have my student card on me.

Went to a casino.. for the buffet...

Almost got a tattoo, as I didn't need parents permission anymore. Pulled out at the last minute, decided black just wasn't my colour.

Saw an R rated movie. Not that I've ever been stopped from doing so while younger...

Filed for my adult passport.

 

Buying alcohol, going clubbing, and going into a sex shop were the things I did, lol

Oh, add "Get Ps" to your list... I still haven't, but it's a pretty normal 18 year old thing to do xD

 

When I turned 18 I got stuck babysitting for two demonic children - I didn't even get cake - because I did t know how to say no to the pushy woman and her boyfriend of five minutes who was out to get some before he left town. :dry:

Although I only bought my first lottery ticket three months ago, and haven't voted yet, those were the only two things I was super excited about when I hit 18. Oh and you can buy spraypaint, cold medicine, and condoms (yes, where I live you have to be 18 to buy condoms!) legally now too.

 

I went into a sex store, bought a lottery ticket, bought a lighter (since NY has that wonderful law about tobacco age being 19 but you can buy lighters at 18. makes no sense to me), went to a club and I'm sure I'll be adding more since I have a little while before I turn 19

 

I was at post prom for the morning, then I went home, slept, and went to play practice. It was Mother's Day, too.

 

When I was 18 I went gambling.

I went to a gay bath house. I'm only saying it because I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Very traumatic for me.

 

Same thing I did most days back then.

Go to school, then go to work.

 

My birthday's always during exams, so I either sat an exam or was studying for one. Doing stuff worth putting on a list was more linked to moving out of my parents house, and then a year later moving out of a hall and into my own place. So not really birthday related, but if you want the list....
- Got blind drunk on a number of occasions
- Got tattooed
- Got pierced
- Got a cat (and then another one)
- Got a dog (getting a shared pet with a partner is a bad idea. I miss my puppy.... )
- Came out
- Joined an organised political movement (very briefly)
and some other stuff I probably shouldn't post......

 

No idea... Not 18 yet

 

Technical stuff:

- Get Driver's license
- Voter's registration
- Get an adult passport (when I'm 20)

Others:

- Legally buy alcohol (not, because I'll be in the states and not Europe anymore :/)
- Watch a Rated-R movie legally
- Buy medicine legally (finally, I can get my allergy meds myself lol)
- Sign my own permission slips
- Get my own bank acct/credit card

Things I actually want to accomplish before I turn 18:

- come out to everyone
- have a great boyfriend
- party out all night long at least once to see how it is
- work at a good job/internship program/research program
- live in an apartment all to myself
- have had 3 great semesters in college, with 4/5 more to go
- somehow gotten residency in my state

 

Get GRS or at least top surgery
Get Gender Recognition certificate (have to wait a bit longer to have the two years real life test, but you also have to be 18)
Get passport which says I'm male
Vote
Drive
Might get tattoed to hide surgery scars...
Be adult!!!!!!!!
Move out (well doing that at sixteen, but whatever)

 

Things I will do:

Get my own bank account.

Apply for a job at a sex/tobacco shop.

Go to a sex shop.

Go clubbing.

Buy an issue of GQ.

. . . . I can't think of anything else lol.
