Am I the only one who thinks that report was not very well written, somewhat rambling and about twice the length it needed to be.

    Just as an aside......
Surely anyone with a bit of common sense would wonder how he's connecting to the Internet then?

That's horrible. Those people should be arrested.

I can understand wanting to keep an eye on their child's friends but to pose as a teenage boy online to do it is just horrible, especially since there were a million other way they could have gone about it. I wonder if they did anything like that to any of their daughter's other friends and just never got caught?

That is one of the worst things I have read in a while. If I was the father, I would not have stopped at the foosball table.

Simply amazing how stupid these "adults" acted.

I'm sorry, but that's just sick.
I hate it when people toy with other's feelings.
Just look at how it ended the life of a young girl.

There's always public areas with internet, such as libraries.

that was just...beyond horrible. i wonder why they are even considered adults. they played with someone's feelings like as if they were little kids. to top it of, the poor girl committed suicide. Yet, no charges were filed? Yuck. Some government we have...

WTF? These adults are phycos and should be trialed and see some help. How does someone who has a child mess around with someone elses child and say such things to her? This is messed up =[. I hope these adults that were behind it go to jail and rot

Dear Gods. The mother deserves that to happen to her daughter.

Report? Twice the length? Sounded more like a fabricated tale that the typical 14 year old myspace user would post in their blog or in a bulletin. Not to mention it was more like 50 times longer than any real news report should be.
I don't wanna be Johnny Raincloud over here, it's sad and all about poor Megan, but it's a little hard not to be cynical towards this so-called 'article'.

News agencies aim to sell their stories, in effect selling their newspapers, achieving good ratings on the tv or more hits on their website. If this was a real news story, the journalist who whacked the most important piece of information 20 minutes into the article would surely need to be looking for a new job.

"But it's a real news website!" You might say. I was once told about this guy who created a fake news website, and wrote a completely fabricated article about the death of Foo Fighters' lead singer, Dave Grohl, in an attempt to trick his friend into believing it was true. Soon, Dave Grohl's death was on the cover of Rolling Stone and other music magazines, with Grohl exclaiming, "I'm not dead!" Internet rumours and tales like these can spread like you couldn't imagine, and they need to be read carefully, because just like Josh Evans, they may be hiding their true identity and purpose.

yes, it's badly written and difficult to read, but please read it.

what i hate is how they're actually protecting someone who admittedly contributed to the suicide of a young girl. if i had written that article, i wouldn't respect that woman's privacy at all. she doesn't deserve to have the right of privacy. i wouldn't want my child anywhere near her child.

Don't worry, I've read it. All of it.
I don't think I'd be able to justify my opinion if I'd only read 5 lines of it.

When I was reading the story, all I could think was, "this is horrible! How could these adults do such a thing!"

I really don't know much about journalism, and I thought it was a very good article. I do know enough about the media to not doubt some of the things said against it. The media in general likes to exaggerate the bad and ignore the good. It's what sells the most.
