Greetings

I've been reading, and I've noticed how progressive the Republican party used to be. Let me give you some examples.

1. They supported abolition of slavery.

2. Nixon signed the abortion legalization bill into law because it would better control the population growth.

3. Nixon supported ending Vietnam.

4. Many other things that I have not read about.

But you know what happened? The fundies infiltrated the Republican party, and turned it from personal freedom and somewhat progressive to a backwards, hatefilled ignorant narrow minded party. They've soiled the progress the Repubs made.

Both parties have their flaws, and I'm not here to defend any party, but just think about how much more progressive the Repub party used to be.
